Solution
Process Monitoring: Temperature, Pressure, Flow and Batch Data
We build process monitoring that records process values in recipe and batch context, flags deviations as they happen and keeps every batch history searchable.

Process monitoring continuously records process values such as temperature, pressure, flow, level and pH and compares them with their targets. In food, chemicals, pharma and plastics, product quality depends heavily on how closely these values follow the recipe. SCADA shows the current state well, but finding the oven profile of a batch from three months ago during a complaint is often hard.
VOLSOFT reads process data from PLCs, SCADA or DCS without changing the control system, and stores every value with its recipe, batch, work order and equipment context. Process engineers see deviations as they happen; quality teams see a batch's full history in one query.
The system runs on Proxus, with historian, rules and dashboards on one platform on your own servers.
What we deliver
Process Monitoring
-
Analog process signals
Temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH and conductivity are read from PLCs, SCADA or DCS, with units and scaling verified before they reach the historian.
-
Recipe and batch context
Every value is linked to the recipe, batch and equipment it belongs to, with batch start, phases and end recorded along ISA-88 lines.
-
SPC and deviation alarms
Control charts, Cp/Cpk and out-of-spec rules catch deviations before product turns into scrap.
-
Batch reports and traceability
Each batch gets an automatic report with its process profile, alarms and operator actions, giving full backward traceability.
-
Alongside your SCADA
Existing SCADA and DCS stay in place; data comes over OPC UA, Modbus or the database, and operator screens are untouched.
How a project runs
From discovery to live, step by step
- 01
Critical parameters
With process and quality teams we define the parameters that drive quality, with their targets and tolerances.
- 02
Data sources
We locate each parameter in the PLC, SCADA or DCS, define sampling needs and confirm where batch information comes from.
- 03
Context and rules
Data is brought into Proxus with recipe and batch context, and SPC and deviation rules are configured.
- 04
Reports and handover
Batch reports, process dashboards and alarm routing go live, and your teams are trained.
Built on Proxus
Process values are stored in the Proxus historian with batch and recipe context, which is where backward queries, batch comparisons and reports come from.
Proxus is the industrial data platform built by the VOLSOFT team.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions
What is process monitoring?
Process monitoring is the continuous recording of process values such as temperature, pressure, flow and level and their comparison with targets. Its purpose is to catch deviations before they affect quality and to keep the history of every batch.
How is process monitoring different from SCADA?
SCADA supervises and controls the process in real time through operator screens and alarms. A process monitoring system stores data long term with recipe, batch and order context, analyzes it and reports on it. They work together rather than replacing each other.
How do you get batch traceability?
Every process value is stored with the batch number, recipe and equipment active at that moment. Searching by batch number then returns the full process profile, alarms and operator actions for that batch.
What is a process historian?
A historian is a time-series database built to store timestamped process and machine data efficiently and make it easy to query over time. Proxus includes a historian, so no separate product is needed.
Can you collect data from our existing SCADA or DCS?
Yes. Data is read over OPC UA, Modbus, the SCADA database or read-only from the PLCs. Control logic and operator screens are not changed.
